“I don’t care that they stole my idea; I care that they don’t have any of their own” ~Nikola Tesla
Tesla was talking about FRAUD.
I feel this so much with my zipper technology and the Army.
The Army hasn’t stolen it…yet.
But, from speaking with other inventors, what happens is…
- You submit your technology to a solicitation from the Army asking for a certain technology.
For me it was solicitation for SBIR A16–062 .
This solicitation described my technology perfectly. - You don’t get funding from the Army for the technology even though it’s a clear promising solution.
They told me I didn’t explain certain things clearly.
They told me they didn’t understand what the technology was.
They also said… - “Can you give us some prototypes to test?”
For someone who doesn’t understand a technology, having interest in testing it is peculiar.
For someone who gets tax dollars to fund small business R&D, asking to conduct the R&D oneself is counter intuitive.
But, that’s what they asked of me. “Just ship over your prototypes, Tesia. We’ll work on it.”
The Army Research Laboratories are full of supposedly skilled researchers. They’re supposedly EXPERTS in their given fields.
Why the hell are experts stealing ideas?
I feel like Tesla.
“I care that they don’t have any [ideas] of their own.”
I have 2 questions…
- If the experts are stealing ideas then why are they experts?
- If the government is given tax dollars to fund small business R&D then why don’t they do exactly that with the money?
Tesla was remarking that the problem doesn’t simply lie with him.
It’s of no consequence that he’s Nikola Tesla.
The point is the unethical, illegal, and immoral behaviors of stealing are a symptom of an even worse condition: fraud.
Fraud (noun):
wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.a person or thing intended to deceive others, typically by unjustifiably claiming or being credited with accomplishments or qualities.
You’re not a researcher if you steal. You’re a fraud.
Yet these people with the credentials and the money and the power are the ones who society regards as “true researchers.”
People like me, Tesla, and the other inventors who’ve had their IP stolen and obliterated in IPR examination by rich competitors and governments are seldom given recognition because of these frauds.
You, Army Researchers, had…
TONS of money
TONS of time
TONS of credentials
and YOU FAILED to solve the problems that Zipr Shift (and so many others) solved!
You suck at research and resort to theft!
Give up! Switch careers!
Science doesn’t need you.
